Hello, my name is Colton Kalmar. I am a recording artist/producer aiming to make music that puts you in a happier place or speeds up a long drive. Music has always been a ritual for me, waking up and listening through my alarm clock, my dad making sure I knew the name and album of every song that would come on the radio, sing-screaming in the car, and I’ll never forget the day I found my parents’ CD collection –– The Beatles, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Billy Joel, INXS, Collective Soul, Nirvana, and The Beach Boys, just to name a few. Music is something profound that helps soundtrack life, and music always seems to be the thing to boost my mood and put my day in a happy place.

I grew up listening to a plethora of different artists and found myself playing drums, guitar, and singing in a rock band with a revolving-door of members. We played all around the state of Oregon as well as the Whisky-A-Go-Go on a couple occasions in Los Angeles (this band went on to become “Apes in the Stu,” a band still on Spotify). This served as a foundation for my music journey. This introduced me to the world of songwriting and recording with the same musicians that eventually led me to where I am today.
